Fitzgerald said he was appointed Municipal Judge in Cedar Park, TX, at age 22 to fill an unexpired term. The Cedar Park Public Information Office has no records or recollections of this.

As Vice Chair of the Bandera County Republican Executive Committee, Fitzgerald attended one meeting, walked out during committee contention, and resigned via a critical email to the Bandera Bulletin editor.
